Iron supplements
Iron is important for the production of red cells but also for brain development. It is found in green vegetables ( spinach , broccoli , avocado) , red meat, dried fruits , fortified cereals and eggs. If your child has a balanced diet there is no need for additional iron supplements but if he or she is very picky with limited intake of the above then that might be needed to reduce risk of anaemia.
Multivitamin supplements
They are not needed in children who maintain a varied diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Fortified cereals and formula milk is another source of vitamins. If your child is very picky and has a restricted diet then they may be considered.
